Slowing Down

I guess I go through periods of time when I am focused on work and just want to get full and not think about food. Nothing sounds or tastes particularly good it’s just something I have to do. Lately though, I have decided to take time to cook and it makes me feel more creative in the best possible way. If you are in the cooking mood as well I totally recommend this pasta recipe. I had it a few nights ago with some friends and served it on some homemade noodles.

And The Season Turns…

My favorite food season is definitely summer. Actually, it’s pretty much my favorite season for every reason. In fact, I should probably stop thinking of fall as the death of summer one of these days and start loving it. Everyone always talks so romantically about fall. Not me. I’ve decided I will make big effort to get into it, but in celebration of summer’s final days, here is a little post for tomatoes. Above is a photo of one of the last harvests from our garden and new recipe I illustrated for eating with kids or anyone that likes small servings and pizza.

Scream Sorbet Gift Cards

Scream Sorbet is just about to open their store in Oakland and as part of that they are offering gift cards that you can use at their markets or at the store when it opens. Most of the gift cards include free sorbet. Mmm, great holiday gift!

Read more about them (and check out some of my illustrations) in the NY Times Style Magazine.
